Dr. Lisa McMurray completed medical school at the University of Toronto, followed by a psychiatry residency at McGill University and a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at Columbia University. Dr. McMurray underwent additional specialized training in electroconvulsive therapy at Columbia University and Duke University, as well as in rTMS at Duke University.
Dr. McMurray has served at the North Bay Psychiatric Hospital, the Pierre-Janet Hospital in Gatineau, and currently, at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre since 2011. She is able to see patients in English and in French. Dr. McMurray is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa, and is the head of the academic Division of Geriatric Psychiatry.
Dr. McMurray has been involved in rTMS research since 2016, and has been collaborating in this area with Dr. Sara Tremblay since 2019 to facilitate access to this treatment for depression. In addition to her work in rTMS, she is a psychiatrist in the Geriatrics Program at The Royal.
