Aya joined the rTMS Neuromodulation Research Clinic as a Research Assistant in 2026. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Mental Health with minors in biology and psychology from Carleton University.

As an rTMS Technician and Research Assistant, Aya administers rTMS treatments, calibrates equipment, supports EEG recording sessions, assists with clinical assessments, and oversees participant care within treatment-resistant depression protocols.

During her undergraduate studies, Aya completed an honour’s thesis investigating the loss of nigral astrocytes in a Parkinson's disease model. Her academic interests lie in neurodegeneration as well as the neurobiological underpinnings of mood disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders.
